Truffle Hunting with Tasting

Our truffle hunt:

Live an experience of 3 hours on hills of Parma in the little country town of Sozzi (Valmozzola) and become a "truffle hunter" for a day, accompanied by one expert guide and her two purebred dogs Lagotto Romagnolo .

At the end of the search among the truffle forest and the surrounding woods, a sumptuous banquet awaits you with a tasting of truffle-based products .

The appointment is at Valmozzola (PR) , 15 minutes early of the time indicated at the time of booking.

Here we will find Flavia waiting for us, together with her mom Laura and the three truffle dogs Trilli , Maya and Ludovica , who will welcome us joyfully. Theirs infallible nose it is a combination of nature and training: the Lagotto Romagnolo , in fact, is a breed specialized in truffle hunting.

Before getting into the heart of the activity, the guide will give an introduction to the world of truffles and the different types. So we'll start the search in the truffle farm of the structure, interacting firsthand with Trilli and Maya and motivating them to "hunt" with some little treats .

The route in the truffle forest extends for approximately 2km and can continue into the woods surroundings for an even more complete experience. Immersed in the vegetation of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines , we will follow the truffle dogs closely until they lead us to the truffles , which we will bring to light with our own hands.

Depending on the season, we will be able to find black summer truffle or black fall truffle . The search for truffles can last between an hour and an hour and a half (it will depend on how much we can find!).

Here we will sit down for a substantial meal tasting of artisanal truffle-based products and fresh truffles prepared by mom Laura; the final touch will be a grating of the truffle that we have found on top of the dishes. If we want, after the tasting we will be able to buy the other truffles found during our search.

The total duration of the activity will be approximately 3 hours .

The activity is suitable for everyone, also for children from 2 years.

Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The price indicated is for one person (adult from 11 years old), children from 4 to 11 years old pay €25.

Children up to 3 years can participate free of charge.

The activity is available from May to November (after booking we need to confirm our availability).

It is necessary to communicate any allergies , food intolerance or vegetarian or vegan preferences before the experience.

It is recommended to wear long pants and trekking boots ; in case of unsuitable clothing, it will not be possible to carry out the activity.

Other dogs are not allowed in this experience.

The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport. Upon request, it is possible to organize a pickup service from Solignano or Berceto railway station to extra cost of €30 , to be agreed with us after the booking confirmation. We can pick up max. 4 people.

For more than 4 people we need to book a taxi.

Our facility has a free parking and of a B&B for those interested in staying overnight.
